Work is now underway in Raunds on a new foodstore for the supermarket giant Asda, with the promise of hundreds of new local jobs.
Following a successful planning application for the development of the 13,500 sq ft store at Warth Park, terms have now been finalised with the developer Roxhill Developments. Construction has subsequently commenced, with the store anticipated to being ready to receive its first customers in Spring 2017.
Simon Toseland, a Director of regional commercial property agent Prop-Search, said; “We are delighted to have successfully agreed this deal with Asda, on behalf of Roxhill. It is in a great location and offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a much needed new store for customers in and around East Northamptonshire.”
The 24-hour new store will be complemented by a petrol filling station and jet wash, alongside a franchise of the fast food giant KFC for a 3,500 sq ft drive-thru restaurant.
