A new classic car auction house has been established in Bedfordshire following an extensive search across the Midlands for a suitable location.
Serial classic owner, Justin Lazic - a regular on the auction scene and well known throughout the UK - decided to use his passion to host regular auctions. However finding a suitable site proved more taxing than the bidding process.
Justin eventually contacted Northamptonshire based Prop-Search, who with their extensive knowledge of the local area, identified Bedford Autodrome, on the Thurleigh Airfield Business Park, just off the A6 in Bedfordshire. Following discussions with the owner of the site, formula 1 driver Jonathan Palmer, a deal was struck to allow Justin to run a series of auctions.
Classics Central has subsequently held its inaugural auction on Sunday, 6th September where the 52 lots included a 1970 Jensen Interceptor, 1992 TVR V8S and a 2002 Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa.
Justin Lazic, Managing Director of Classics Central, said: “I also own the sales and restoration company Lazic Classics and have been a regular on the auction scene for some time. I therefore consider I am well placed to understand the ‘magic’ required to connect motivated buyers with motivated sellers of quality and collectible cars.”
“Bedford Autodrome has been an ideal fit for our organisation. The extensive free hardstanding parking and indoor venue were a big hit with the buying public and more than 30 lots have already been consigned for the next auction.”
Commenting on the search Richard Baker, a Director at Prop-Search said: “Facilitating a venue for regular car auctions is not a typical everyday enquiry. However, we work with an extensive number of businesses within the automotive sector and those established contacts led us to Bedford Autodrome - home to Palmersport.”
Classic Central’s next classic car auction will be held on Sunday, 8th November at 13:30. Entries are now being taken and Classics Central can be contacted on 0800 122 3335 or through its website www.classicscentral.co.uk.
