Shoppers in Wellingborough were recently treated to a fly past by the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) helicopter as the charitable organisation opened the doors of its latest shop.
The store at 31 Market Street in the town centre has been leased by WNAA for a term of five years through Prop-Search and offers over 3,000 sq ft of retailing space. It is the first charity shop operated by WNAA that will sell furniture.
WNAA is now appealing for donations of good quality furniture, which it will collect, and soft furnishings that comply to the latest flame retardant guidelines. It is also happy to take electrical goods.
WNAA attend, on average, four missions every single day, from road traffic collisions to house fires; fallen horse riders to industrial accidents. It receives no Government or National Lottery funding and relies totally on donations, sponsorship and fundraising events to keep flying and saving lives.
