The recent surge in activity at Crossfire 14 - a new 275,000 sq ft distribution park in Kettering - has continued unabated during the pandemic with over 80% of the scheme now let or under offer.
The logistics sector has demonstrated its role as a keystone of the UK’s critical infrastructure during this time and the largest unit within the scheme has now been acquired by Maersk, an integrated contained logistics company and member of the A.P. Moller Group. The company, which operates in 130 counties, has signed to take 101,134 sq ft to satisfy the increased demand for warehousing from its clients.
This follows the move last year of commercial refrigeration specialist Capital Cooling to lease a 24,534 sq ft unit at Crossfire 14, relocating its warehouse and logistical capabilities to Northamptonshire, whilst retaining its headquarters in Scotland. Two further units totalling 95,841 sq ft within the scheme are also now under offer.
Local property commercial property consultant Prop-Search is retained to act alongside DTRE as letting agent at Crossfire 14, on behalf of Canmoor and Tristan Capital Partners and its Director Richard Baker said: “This letting delivers another major boost of inward investment and will undoubtedly provide significant economic growth in the region leading to further job creation.”
“Indeed, the region continues to cement its position as a key strategic logistics location in the country and Crossfire 14 delivers with a gateway position where the A43 crosses the A14.”
